How do I verify that a Silverado is a real Trail Boss?

Z71 — Off-road suspension package. This code identifies a factory-installed chassis group. Browse RPO codes →

There are a lot of Silverados out there wearing Trail Boss decals that started life as something else. I am looking at a 2020 and the lift looks factory but I cannot be sure. What in the build record would confirm it is the real thing rather than a lifted truck with stickers?

The real one is a combination of the off-road suspension package and the specific suspension content that comes with it. A decal kit and aftermarket lift will not produce those codes.

Look for the Z71 group in the chassis block. If the truck was built as a Trail Boss, that content is on the record. If someone lifted a base truck, it will not be.

Checked and it is legitimate. The suspension codes are all there. Buying it.

Good. The other tell is ride height on a stock truck, but the paperwork is faster and does not require a tape measure.
