There is a code on my build sheet that comes back with no description at all. Everything else on the sheet resolved fine. Does an unknown code mean something is wrong with the record, or are there just codes that do not have public meanings?

Both happen. Some codes are internal to manufacturing, things like processing or routing designations that were never meant for owners.

Others are simply not in whatever reference is being used to look them up. The code is real, the lookup table just does not have that entry.

So an unknown code is not a red flag by itself. Good, I was starting to wonder if I had a rebuilt title situation.

Not at all. If the rest of the sheet is coherent and matches the vehicle, one unresolved code is normal.
