I bought a 2006 Silverado from an older gentleman and I am trying to find the sticker everyone calls the SPID. I checked the driver door jamb and only found the tire pressure and weight label. Someone told me it is in the glove box but mine is empty and clean inside. Am I looking in the wrong place for this year, or has it just been removed at some point?

On that generation it is inside the glove box, usually on the top or side surface rather than the floor. Empty the box completely and run your hand along the upper inner panel with a flashlight. They are easy to miss because they blend in.

Some trucks from those years had it on the underside of the center console lid or in the rear cargo area instead. It moved around more than people expect.

Found it! It was on the upper inside surface of the glove box, tucked back where the door hinges. Thank you both, I never would have looked there.

Worth photographing it now that you have it. They fade badly and once it is unreadable you are back to pulling the codes by VIN.
