I bought a used glove box from a salvage yard for my 2010 and it came with an RPO sticker still attached. Obviously those codes belong to a different truck. Should I peel it off? I am worried a future owner or a shop reads it and orders the wrong parts.

Peel it off. I have had exactly that happen at the counter, someone reads a label from a donor part and orders based on it. It causes real problems.

Agreed. And this is a good example of why the build record by VIN is the authoritative source and the sticker is only a convenience copy.

Removed it. Printed my own codes from the VIN lookup and put them in the folder instead.

That is the right move. The label follows the part, the record follows the vehicle.
