Why does my paint code have two different numbers?

GAZ — Exterior paint identification code. This code identifies the factory-applied exterior finish. Browse RPO codes →

My paint documentation shows two different numbers and I cannot tell which one the body shop needs. One is on the label and one showed up in the build data. Are these the same thing written differently, or do they mean two separate things?

Often one is the RPO code and the other is the paint manufacturer's mix number. They describe the same color from two directions, so neither is wrong.

Give the shop both. A good shop will use the mix code but will want the RPO to confirm they are looking at the right formula for your year.

Handed over both and the shop knew exactly what to do. Match was perfect.
