I keep seeing both terms used and I am not sure they are different things. Is the Chevy build sheet just another name for the window sticker, or are they two separate documents with different information on them?

Two different documents. The window sticker is the buyer-facing one, with plain English equipment names, packages and the original MSRP. The build sheet is the code-level record underneath it.

Practically speaking, the sticker is easier to read and the build sheet is more complete. The sticker groups things into package names, the build sheet lists every individual code.

That distinction helps a lot. So the sticker is the summary and the build sheet is the raw list.

Exactly. And on older vehicles the sticker often is not available anymore, so the build sheet is all you get.
